PRIMAL CUT - BRANDING - PACKAGING - WEB DESIGN & BUILD
Background
Husband and wife team Michael and Kate Oliver started a sausage making company in their kitchen. They wanted to fulfill a dream of producing 100% natural sausages that everyone can eat regardless of dietary requirements for health or lifestyle reasons.
The result is delicious glutenfree sausages made with free range meat from local Yorkshire farms.
They approached us to help them take the business to the next stage.

Brief
Initially the brief was only to design and build a new website. However, as we got to know their story, personality and their vision, we jointly agreed their visual identity did not reflect them as a brand.
Primal Cut commissioned us to design a new visual identity, new packaging and a revamp of their market stall. Along the journey we helped them fine tune their concept to the target audience and built a website from which they can now proudly sell the natural sausages, bacon and cured meats.

Approach
We started the project by looking at the range of products Primal Cut were offering and reducing their offer to the most popular products. This was to allow a more streamlined production and to communicte the offer better to the audience.
We then categorised the sausages into three groups 'Traditional', 'Continental' and 'Hot & Spicy'. This enabled us to differentiate between the types of sausages using a colour scheme for each.
They wanted their new logo to have a real impact on the packaging. We created this by using a clean typeface with a colour scheme reflecting the natural heritage of the landscape, farming and charcuterie.
